أسماء الحسنى The 99 Names

About

Assalamu alaikum. This site exists because most resources on the 99 Names of Allah stop at a list: the Arabic, a one-word translation, and nothing more. The names deserve better — and so does anyone trying to actually know the One they describe.

The approach

Every name page follows the same structure: the linguistic root and its shades of meaning, verses from the Quran where the name appears, an original reflection, three practical applications for daily life, and a dua using the name. The reflections are original writing — not scraped, not summarized from other sites.

Sources and accuracy

Quranic citations are verified against the mushaf. Hadith are cited only from recognized collections, with the collection named (e.g. Bukhari, Muslim). For meanings of the names, the reflections draw on classical works on the Asma ul Husna, including those of al-Ghazali, Ibn al-Qayyim, and al-Sa'di's tafsir.

If you spot an error in a citation, please reach out — accuracy matters more here than anywhere.
