أسماء الحسنى The 99 Names

Start here

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah has ninety-nine names — one hundred less one — and whoever ahsaha (learns, understands, and lives by them) will enter Paradise." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Notice the word: not memorizes, but ahsaha — to take account of, to internalize. That's what this site is for. Most resources give you a list of 99 names with one-word translations. We go one name at a time, in depth: the linguistic root, where the name appears in the Quran, an original reflection, and practical ways to live it.

How to use this site

  1. Begin at the beginning. Start with Ar-Rahman, the first name in the traditional order. The order itself is a curriculum — mercy comes first for a reason.
  2. Take one name per week. Read the page, sit with the reflection, and try one of the three "Living the name" practices. Slow is the point.
  3. Use the dua. Each page ends with a dua built around that name. Calling on Allah by His names is exactly what the Quran invites us to do (7:180).
